Indian Head Massage or Shiro-Abhyanga is a part of the ancient Ayurvedic medicinal system from India. The techniques used in Indian Head Massage, for maintaining health and wellness, have been handed down over the generations.

Indian Head Massage therapists treat the person by stimulating and balancing their body, mind and spirit.

Indian Head Massage is a safe, simple yet very effective therapy. It is ideal for shy clients as it is a non-invasive and fully clothed therapy.

What happens during the treatment

During the consultation of your first visit, you will be required to give your personal details, medical history and lifestyle information.

For the whole duration of the treatment you remain fully clothed. The treatment includes the upper back, shoulders, arms, hands, neck, scalp, face and ears. A variety of massage movements are used to relieve tension and stimulate circulation. Oils can be used for the scalp and face massage if you wish. Chakras are also balanced at the end of the treatment, promoting the vital energy flow through the body.

Talking is not recommended throughout the treatment, as it is a good time for you to relax and let go. The pressure can be adjusted to your needs. Some days you may want an invigorating massage and others you might just prefer lighter pressure. The only thing you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the treatment.
